Leah Martin Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Leah is a mother to her two boys Cole and Callum and is an Indigenous Nova Scotian as well as a proud member of Millbrook First Nation. Leah was raised by a hard-working family and lived in the Cole Harbour area for a number of years prior to her family relocating to Ontario. Leah attended Dalhousie University & enjoyed a successful 5 year career as a member of the Dalhousie Tigers Women’s Basketball team and ultimately graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

Leah continued to give back to Dalhousie’s basketball program as both an Assistant Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach for 10 years after university and was a volunteer coach in communities both for Bedford, CPA and Auburn High. Passionate about giving back in the community, Leah works closely with Cole Harbour Basketball sharing her knowledge from the fitness Industry for over 15 years.

Leah knew she wanted to get involved with the team that was taking real action to build up NS. Leah works directly with the Premier’s Office as an Executive Assistant and is now working as Special Advisor to the Minister with the Department of Environment and Climate change. Leah’s diverse life experiences are what makes her a critical analyst and excellent problem-solver.
